Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to common questions about Medair Services, our maintenance programs, and how we support healthcare facilities with medical equipment service and compliance.

What services does Medair Services provide?

Medair Services provides preventive maintenance, safety inspections, medical equipment repairs, and certification services designed to support safety, performance, and regulatory compliance.

We work with hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, imaging facilities, laboratories, outpatient clinics, rehabilitation centers, and private medical practices throughout New York City, Long Island, and beyond.

Medair Services offers two primary maintenance program options: Flat Rate and Per Unit. Facilities may choose the option that best fits their operational and budgeting needs.

The Flat Rate Program is ideal for facilities that want consistent, predictable costs.

At the start of the program, a technician inventories the equipment selected for calibration and maintenance. Based on this assessment, a flat rate is proposed for annual or semi-annual service.

This rate:

  • Covers all specified equipment
  • Includes new equipment added during the coverage period
  • Includes parts required for upkeep
  • Remains the same from year to year

This program helps facilities simplify budgeting and avoid unexpected repair expenses.

The Per Unit Program is ideal for facilities that prefer itemized service and detailed cost breakdowns.

Under this program:

  • A technician visits the facility annually or semi-annually
  • Each unit is inspected, calibrated, and maintained as required
  • Repairs are performed if necessary
  • A detailed invoice is provided listing each piece of equipment and the services performed

This option allows facilities to track service and costs on an individual equipment basis.

To begin, a technician visits your facility to take an inventory of equipment selected for calibration and maintenance on an annual or semi-annual basis.

Based on this inventory:

  • One or two service options are proposed
  • Annual or semi-annual costs are calculated
  • Costs may be broken down into a monthly amount reflecting a 12-month period

This allows facilities to choose the program that best meets their needs.

Before each visit, a technician schedules an appointment and coordinates with the maintenance director. Facility staff are notified in advance.

During the visit:

  • The technician goes unit by unit, room by room
  • Equipment is calibrated and maintained as specified
  • A label is printed and affixed to each unit showing the inspection date and status

If equipment is found to be non-operational:

  • The issue is documented
  • Maintenance is notified
  • If approved, the equipment may be taken for further evaluation
  • A quote is provided indicating repair cost or if the unit is not cost-effective to repair

After each inspection, a detailed report is provided to the administrator and maintenance director. Facilities receive a binder, and reports are added after each service visit.

These records are intended to support Department of Health (DOH) and other regulatory inspection requirements.

No. Parts required for maintenance are subject to additional charges.
